Rand Water visits World Water Academy for knowledge exchange

From April 29 to May 2, a delegation from Rand Water Academy visited World Water Academy. Rand Water is a South African water utility company that provides drinking water to over 11 million people in, among others, the Gauteng region. It is the largest water utility company in Africa. Various topics were covered during the visit, ranging from course development and multimedia design to quality assurance and digital learning environments.

Additionally, field visits, guest lectures and presentations by subject-matter experts were scheduled. Through these presentations and excursions, participants gained a thorough understanding of the activities of Dutch water boards, drinking water companies, and other relevant stakeholders in the Dutch water sector.

International Partnership

The training stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both organizations. With this collaboration, we focus on capacity building and joint training activities in South and Southern Africa.

Interactive learning for practical insights

We carefully designed this tailor-made training program to meet the most urgent training needs of the participants. Thanks to various guest lecturers, experts, and inspiring field visits, participants had direct contact with numerous representatives from the Dutch water sector. They were updated on the latest developments in the field and gained valuable practical experience.

The integration of training sessions held at World Water Academy’s facilities with field visits empowered participants to transform theoretical knowledge into tangible insights. The interactive approach boosted participant engagement and delivered readily applicable knowledge.

Upon completion of the program, participants received a certificate as recognition for their efforts.
