The availability of clean drinking water is essential for human health. The water supply company is responsible for delivering clean drinking water to its customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Leaks in pipelines cause losses in valuable product resulting in financial losses for the drinking water company. Leaks also increase the potential of contamination of drinking water. Therefore it is important that leaks are detected and repaired as soon as possible.
In this course you will learn how leaks can be detected and repaired. Further on you will be instructed on how the distribution network needs to be sanitized after repairing a leak is explained.

Outcome
After successfully completing this course you can rapidly detect and repair leaks in a distribution network and you can sanitize the network after completing the work.

Training approach
In addition to classroom presentations this course demonstrates interactive and innovative training methods, such as group work, discussions, practical exercises, demonstrations and role-plays. The training methods are tailored to the objectives of the training.
Extra
This course is one of five modules of the overall course Water Distribution and Control for Water System Operators. After successfully completing the five modules, the participant will be awarded a diploma.
