2016 - 2017
Mandalay, Lashio & Myitkyina (Myanmar)
IIn 2008 Myanmar was hit by cyclone Nargis resulting in the deaths of approx. 138,000 people illustrating the scale of disaster that can hit Myanmar from a single event. Myanmar could be better prepared for all types of disasters and this tailored training of people in the field will contribute to that preparedness in a sustainable way by investing in local stakeholders such as Government.
2010-2012
Bandung, Jakarta, Bali (Indonesia)
The project aims at accelerating the achievement of Millennium Development Water Goals by capacity building in the field of education and research on drinking water production/distribution and waste water collection/treatment through open, practice oriented education and applied research on appropriate technologies. The project builds on experiences of TUD and SWO with educational and research concepts (training the trainer in both technical knowledge and didactical skills, open course ware practice orientedness of trainings, active learning, modelling and cooperative applied research) and aims to make available these experiences in education and research in the Indonesian setting.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
The water services of Vietnam are facing a challenge to change from a governmental department to a business driven entity. Furthermore the government has planned a large scale improvement of urban water and sanitation. Capacity building of Vietnamese water sector staff regarding modern management approaches and the exchange of best practical means will contribute positively to the future performance of the companies. Together with DHV Vietnam, the VWSA and AMC World Water Academy proposed to develop a training series for the management of the Vietnamese drinking water companies.
