Mister Mbulelo Tshangana, director general of the Ministry of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation from South Africa, visited World Water Academy on November 6th of 2019. The DG was accompanied by 10 delegates. Agnes Maenhout (managing director) and Claudia Peters (training manager) introduced the delegates to the activities of World Water Academy and our way of working.

On Thursday the 7th of November 2019 a South Korean delegation visited World Water Academy in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands. A group of 28 people were in The Netherlands for the Aquatech Amsterdam. They were in search of information about training and examination for qualified personnel at the water sector.

The project ‘Bridging the water: co-create to learn & experience’ has officially been launched on the 1st of February at the Durban University of Technology. In the coming three years this project aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the South African water sector.

Nuffic selected 'Bridging the water: co-create to learn & experience' as the Orange Knowledge Program for institutional collaboration for South Africa. The project aims to strengthen water education & training sustainably in South Africa.

World Water Academy develops building blocks for the development of an operational plan (business plan) to sustain the Training Activities of the Delta Centre in Bangladesh. In July 2018 a mission to Bangladesh was held to explore the current practices of training centres in Bangladesh with similar scope in same and/or other domains.

Science Signpost Publishing Inc. (SSPub) recently published our paper in their journal Advances in Ecological and Environmental Research.

On Monday the 16 April, Agnes Maenhout kicked off the course 'Weather Smart Water Resources Management' in Nelspruit, South Africa. Trainers from South Africa and The Netherlands gave this new course to employees of the IUCMA (Inkomati - Usuthu Catchment Management Agency).

The start-up meeting to discuss the design of the course Weather Smart Water Resource Management was held on October 2nd of 2017 in Nelspruit. The management of Inkomati-Usuthu Catchment Management Agency (IUCMA) and of World Water Academy (WWA) discussed the draft programme.

From 19 October to 2 November 2017, during the Amsterdam International
Water Week (AIWW), 23 young water professionals from around the world will
participate in a Wetskills Challenge in the Netherlands.
