Learning targets
The treatment of wastewater is a complex process involving various process steps. Operators play a key role in the treatment of wastewater. Their decisions and actions have a major influence on the final treatment results.
This course trains your operator skills in 4 modules of 2/3 days.
You will learn why wastewater is treated and how it is done. Mechanical, chemical, physical and biological treatment steps are explained in detail. You will learn about the importance of sludge handling and good operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

The course is taught in 4 modules which can be taken separately:
- Basics of wastewater treatment
- Wastewater treatment techniques
- Wastewater sludge management
- Operation & Maintenance for Wastewater Treatment
Outcome
After successfully completing this course you are a skilled operator. You acquire an insight into different aspects of a wastewater treatment plant. You learn how to operate and maintain the plant and how to handle sludge.

This course comprises interactive and innovative training methods, such as group work, discussions, practical exercises, demonstrations and role-plays.
Extra
After successfully completing the four modules you will be awarded a diploma.
